The things that can really push you to grow sadly end up being the last things on your list. I’ve always been an orderly person, but I think my efforts have typically been reserved for school and work. I’m trying to be more regimented with my leisure readings, language acquisition, and journaling. While I have always struggled with balance something tells me it’s different this semester, especially because of my growing intentionality with the habits I am forming ( recently I wrote about being intentional with your habits ). Once I can take a breather, which is what I’m calling February from now on, I think I will finally stop feeling this chaotic, snowball energy. We have responsibilities and things we have signed up for. Whatever it is, it’s my reality for the foreseeable future. Perhaps it’s not so much a feeling of fun, but a much-needed distraction (oop…). I write enough about stopping and smelling the roses, but no one talks about how sneakily fun it is to keep chugging along. With my running from place to place and juggling a bunch of different projects, I can all too easily lose myself, and forget the importance of slowing down (a theme!). The momentum is a bit exciting, but not at all sustainable. Literally, just picture my face on a snowball, careening down a mountain, growing larger, and picking up more snow. I’m trying my hardest not to channel my inner snowball! It feels like I’ve physically rolled into the new year.
